Sunsets Story

Sunsets Story

Hello everybody,
my name is SUNSET.
I wasn´t sure if I would survive after I was badly abused as a bait dog! They chose me, because I am so gentle! If you don´t know what a bait dog is, here is the explanation :
First you need to know that there are professional dog fights going on even in your neighborhood!!
These people train dogs to fight against each other until death! That alone is cruel enough!
And then these so called “humans” take gentle dogs like me as “bait dogs”
They taped my mouth with duct tape so that I could not fight back, tied me to something that I had no chance to go away and then these so called “humans” set their dogs on me to train them how to fight. They tried to bite me to death and almost ripped me apart.

I was lucky! I survived!

But my torture wasn´t over yet. They used me as a breeding machine and took away my puppies!

I was lucky! I survived!

And after that they had no use for me anymore and dumped me in a ditch on the side of Sunset Road (that’s where my name is coming from) in Lehigh Acres, Florida like a piece of garbage !

I was lucky! I survived!

My right ear was almost ripped off completely, a few of my teeth were broken or missing, I had bite wounds all over my body, my tail was wounded, on my left paw a piece of the pad was ripped off all through to my tendons, I had a lot of very severe infections, I was severely dehydrated and malnourished and covered in dirt an shit!

I was lucky! I survived!

On this January the 27th 2015 a good Samaritan found me and picked me up and brought me to the Gulf Coast Humane Society to the Vet!

I was lucky! I survived!

They took care of me like nobody ever did before in my life. They kept me alive and treated me with all their knowledge, passion and love! They took care of all my wounds and stitched me back together!

I was lucky! I survived!

After several days between life and death I decided to stay alive because I saw that there were
other humans out there than the ones I knew before.
Thanks to the perfect care at Gulf Cost Humane Society with their amazing stuff!

I was lucky! I survived!

March 12th 2015 I moved into the home of my new family which adopted me.

I am a normal dog now and part of a cool pack. The first time I feel safe and secure and I can sleep without any fear!

I am lucky! I survived!

Here you can watch my video !! Just click here.

I would like to thank all the people that donated whatever they had without knowing me to make this possible.

Thursday, July 11th 2019 at 01:20am I crossed the rainbow bridge.

Please look around and report any suspicious activity that points to dog fighting.
Please call the police immediately if you recognize any animal cruelty!
I dream that someday not any of my brothers and sisters will have to go through what I went through!

From the bottom of my heart please keep up the fight
